Welcome to Day 12 of The 30 Day Blog Challenge hosted by me, C.C., here at I'm On My Way and my online BFF Jamee at A New Kind of Normal. Today's assignment is to post a blog post of a photograph of the town you live in. Make sure you grab the 30 Day Blog Challenge button (use the code that's in the box below) to post in your blog post and once you publish your blog post, enter your link below so we can look at each other's posts.
I originally moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico, in March, 1993. It was almost the end of my sophomore year of high school and I was less than thrilled to be moving here. I got out of Carlsbad as quickly as I could (college in 1995) and never lived here again, just came back for visits. That is until this past September. After finishing our chaplaincy residencies, we moved in with my parents who had remained here in Carlsbad. We've been here for about 4.5 months now. We won't be here forever, but it's been a resting place in our journey. About Carlsbad, when most people think of Carlsbad, if they know anything at all, they know about the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The funny thing, to me anyway, is that the Caverns are about 45 minutes to an hour away from the town of Carlsbad. :) There is a natural entrance and you can hike down to the Underground Lunchroom which is 750 feet below - the equivalent of about a 78 story building (it's a steep 1.25 mile walk). This photo is of the Dolls Theater which is one of many beautiful places that you see as you walk through the caverns.
