LOST 5X14

Time for my thoughts on this week's episode. There are numerous sites that do recaps so I'm not going to necessarily do that, but I am going to share my thoughts on what happened.

*****SPOILER ALERT - IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED 5X14, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED!*****

Season 5, Episode 14 - The Variable
~yep, confirmation that Eloise is Daniel's mom
~my heart broke for Penny as she & Charlie waited to find out if Desmond would make it
~a little confused about Daniel, so he was fine as a kid, but then was crazy and then was mostly ok when he was on the island, and then went crazy again during the time skipping stuff and now he's sane again, not sure I understand all that
~Daniel was sure a brilliant child, what made him go crazy? His mom pushing him so hard???
~doesn't look like Phil is going to make it, care to wager a bet on if Sawyer will kill him before they leave Dharmaville?
~what do yall think about Daniel telling Dr. Chang that Miles is his son? could that be the reason Dr. Chang sent Miles & his mom off the island?
~And then with Daniel graduating and getting the grant from Widmore, it couldn't have been coincidence, it appears Widmore has been watching him from afar all along.
~And how about Penny & Daniel, are they full brother & sister or is Penny's mom the woman that is referenced when Ben kicks Charles off the island thus making them half-siblings
~loved Sawyer's nickname for Daniel, Twitchy
~the Oceanic people are splitting up again, which side will end up being the good one?
~totally was creeped out by Daniel talking to young Charlotte, ugh!
~Daniel's line was brilliant "You have to understand Jack, this is our present, it's because I hadn't been shot yet, we can't be naïve, think that nothing can happen to us, any of us can die Jack"
~sounds like Daniel thought about his plan for a long time, does Jughead have a future role in an upcoming episode?
~pretty shocking to find out Widmore is Daniel's father
~so is Eloise playing both sides, working with Widmore & Ben both?
~And then young Eloise shooting Daniel! Did Eloise know this would happen when she told Daniel he had to go on the freighter to the island? How could a mom do this to her own son????
~Read an article today that Daniel is really dead. Will Jack & Kate be able to finish his plan?
~The more I see of Eloise & Widmore, the more I wonder if Ben is actually the good guy.
~next week - erasing the past, how about the cave they swim into with the Egyptian hieroglyphics in it? Looks really interesting. Can't wait for Follow the Leader next week. Who do you think the leader is?

There's my thoughts for what it's worth. Tune in next week for my thoughts on 5X15 Follow the Leader.

Bullet Point Sunday

Another Sunday is here. This semester has been so busy that I'm doing good to get 2 blog posts in a week. Maybe I'll do another 100 days of blogging sometime.

Things are winding down for the semester. 5 more papers to write. 2 more assignments to finish. 1 final exam to take.

10 days, 22 hours, 53 minutes, 30 seconds until the spring semester is over for me.

101 days, 22 hours, 53 minutes, 30 seconds until I am done with school forever!

They are predicting rain for us tonight and the next few days. Hopefully that will occur. It's been really hot here this past week and I think the rain would not only be a blessing, but also cool things down.

I hurt my right leg yesterday. Damaris and I did a 1 mile fun walk in the neighborhood. I think I've mentioned it here before, but we suspect that I have fibromyalgia. I'll have insurance after we move & we'll get this checked out for sure then. I don't know if my leg pain is part of the fibromyalgia or if I tore my hamstring. Ugh!

Damaris and I gave Russ his birthday present early. We had some unexpected money come in & so we were able to buy him a Roku player to use with Netflix. We've been enjoying watching some old tv shows & some movies we want to see since we gave up our cable. We already had the streaming video as part of our Netflix package so there is no additional cost for this each month.

Well, I guess that's it for today. Have a blessed week & come back on Thursday for my look at the new episode of LOST that airs on Wednesday night.

LOST The Oceanic 6

This week's episode was simply a clips show about the Oceanic 6. No new information so this is a short post, but thought you'd want to see the video below.

Bullet Point Sunday (a day late)

Yes I realize it's no longer Sunday, but at least I'm posting some kind of blog even if it is a day late. ;-)

Things are absolutely insane here now. 17 days until the end of the semester.

I still have 16 papers to write & 3 more assignments beyond that.

Thankfully only 1 final exam out of the 5 classes I'm taking.

Then I'll have 3 weeks off before summer school starts. I plan to pack up stuff like the knickknacks, wall hangings, etc. that we won't need before we move.

Then Russ & I have 1 class the month of June, 1 class the month of July that ends the first week of August, & then we have to be moved out of our house here in Abilene by the 2nd week of August.

We'll go sometime in May to locate a place to live in Lubbock.

Russ was also chosen to present a paper at a national conference of religion professors at the end of May, so he & I will go to Waco for that.

Oh, & I think we're having breakfast burritos for dinner.

Have a great
SundayMonday all.

LOST 5X13

Time for my thoughts on this week's episode. There are numerous sites that do recaps so I'm not going to necessarily do that, but I am going to share my thoughts on what happened.

*****SPOILER ALERT - IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED 5X13, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED!*****

Season 5, Episode 13 - Some Like It Hoth
~By far my favorite episode this season thus far
~Probably in my top five favorite episodes ever!
~Did anyone notice the microwave clock in the apartment said 3:16? :-)
~What I gather is that this was the first time Miles had been able to talk to dead people. Very creepy to see this young boy experiencing these scary feelings & emotions!
~So this circle of trust the Horace brings Miles into, is this something to just scare Miles into being quiet or is there really a bigger circle of trust? I think the 2nd one is much more probable with all the secrecy we've seen thus far.
~Why are they building the hatch in hostile territory? And how are they doing this without the hostiles knowing about it?
~I wondered for a bit if the guy who died was someone we knew or someone important, but apparently he was just a worker.
~I was a bit weirded out seeing Miles with all the piercings (says me who has 6 piercings of my own lol!), but it seemed to me he was just trying to figure out himself no matter what it took.
~I'm wondering what happened that made Miles & his mom leave the Island. They seemed very happy there with Dr. Chang, but obviously something happened.
~I'm sure Miles' mom never would have imagined that Miles would end up back on the Island somehow.
~I honestly feel sorry for Ben's dad Roger. It's apparent he has never gotten over losing his wife & now he doesn't know where his son is or if he'll live.
~Has Hurley ever told anyone (other than people in the institution) that he sees & talks to dead people? I can't recall. Maybe he told Jack? Interesting that he just blurts it out to Miles. They didn't seem to have any real connection before.
~Loved the line "You're just jealous that my power is better than your power". That was priceless!!!!
~I am wondering about the polar bears again. Apparently there were more than one. What were they there for though? Hmmm....
~And then we finally get what they showed us in the 1st episode of the season. Dr. Chang is Miles' dad!!!
~I thought the audition in the restaurant was interesting. Apparently money is Miles' motivation at this point.
~Did you notice the stuff on the chalkboard when Jack is cleaning the classroom? It was all about Egypt. I'm going to see if I can find a screenshot. Hold that thought.....OK, I'm back, I found one.

Very interesting stuff!!!!
~Another funny line is Dr. Chang's "My wife likes jazz, I like country". Totally unexpected!
~And then we see the 4 8 15 16 23 42 numbers pounded into the hatch door. It's a serial number? So does it really not have any deeper meaning than that? lol!
~OK, I know next is Miles getting kidnapped by the people in the van, but I'll cover that in a minute when I get to the end of the episode & I share my theory. Stay tuned...
~I can say at this point that now we understand why Miles asked Ben for the $3.2 million since it's double what Widmore had offered him.
~Totally laughed out loud when I realized that Hurley was writing the script to The Empire Strikes Back. Only Hurley!
~I knew the videotape was going to come back to bite them. Phil is all tied up. Will Sawyer kill him to keep him quiet?
~I'm glad Miles came clean with Mr. Grey. His comment was harsh, but true though - "It wouldn't have been fair to your son, if you needed your son to know you loved him, you should have told him while he was alive"
~The whole Star Wars references thing during the episode might have a deeper meaning. I had a member of the Logsdon LOST Fans (LLF) try to convince me that there are different LOST characters correlate with different Star Wars characters. Not totally sure I buy it, but it's a thought.
~OK, how creepy would it be to watch through the window and see your mom & dad taking care of baby you? I totally felt for Miles at that point!
~And then, who appears out of the sub? None other than Daniel Faraday!!!! My thought that I referenced above is this: I think Daniel has figured out how to purposefully travel through time. I also think Daniel is the head of the 3rd group of people - Ben's group, Widmore's group, & Daniel's group. I think Daniel's group is the "what lies in the shadow of the statue?" people who kidnapped Miles & also who were on the Ajira flight & are now on the other island.
~Next week, the story of the O6 from a different perspective & then two weeks from tonight, a new episode, #100!!!! Sides are chosen, some will run, some will fight. I can't wait! See ya next week!

There's my thoughts for what it's worth. Tune in next week for my thoughts on the recap show & in two weeks for my thoughts on 5X14 The Variable.

LOST 5X12

Time for my thoughts on this week's episode. There are numerous sites that do recaps so I'm not going to necessarily do that, but I am going to share my thoughts on what happened.

*****SPOILER ALERT - IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED 5X12, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED!*****

Season 5, Episode 12 - Dead is Dead
~Thank goodness for DVR. Our Seder Meal at church ran late so we didn't get home until almost 8:30pm. That meant avoiding Twitter & Facebook etc. until we got finished watching last night.
~I'm beginning to suspect that Whitmore is not what we've been led to believe he is. He really revealed a bad side in last night's episode.
~It also seems that Richard & Whitmore don't agree so much on what the island wants.
~Interesting that Ben & his people have no name for Smokie.
~About the crate with poles on the smaller island - had some discussion with the LLF (LOST Logsdon Fans) that this reminded me of the ark of the covenant. Maybe there is something inside that needs to be returned to the temple.
~Interesting to see the pre-teen/teenage Ethan. He seems like he's got some problems already. Maybe because somehow, as yet unknown, he is separated/taken? from his parents.
~Now, about Ben & Danielle & Alex, Ben seems fine with killing Danielle as Whitmore has ordered until he hears Alex crying. Apparently he has an issue with a child being motherless because of her death as we see confirmed later in this episode.
~Very interesting that he Ben warns Danielle that if she ever hears whispers on the island, to run the other way.
~The discussion between Ben & John in the office regarding the elephant in the room conversation - the remark about the island understanding if everything Ben has done has been in the best interest of the island. Makes the later happenings under the temple make some sense.
~Loved the line "Friends can be more dangerous than enemies." So true, so true!
~Really hated Charles when he went off on Ben about not killing Alex. Seriously, she's a baby! Have I mentioned I'm not at all trusting Charles anymore!
~Got totally creeped out when the light turned on in Alex's room in Ben's house in Dharmaville. I wonder how long Sun & Frank had been waiting there for John.
~Did anyone else notice how Ben reacted to hearing that Christian had shown up to talk to Sun & Frank? He looked totally scared.
~He also looked shocked to see the '77 orientation photo. Seems like Ben might not actually know everything.
~Literally LOL at Ben pulling the plug & the water draining trying to get Smokie to come to him.
~I feel like we haven't heard the whole story yet as to why Charles was "banished" from the island. Apparently Ben didn't trick him since he was being led off the island. Or did he?
~Also loved the line about Smokie not running on a schedule like a train.
~I literally screamed at the tv when Ben shot Desmond. I know they have been alluding to this all season, but I didn't expect him to actually shoot Desmond!
~And then Charlie comes up out of the boat when Ben is about to shoot Penny. I think even if Desmond hadn't attacked Ben, he wouldn't have shot Penny because of Charlie.
~OK, now what was the whole thing about what's in the shadow of the statue? Which statue are the talking about? I would assume the statue of the foot. But how do they know about the statue if they've never been on the main island. This leads me to speculate that the other people on the plane were actually sent to the island by Whitmore. And that whatever is in the crate is something to do with Whitmore trying to destroy the island!!!!!
~So how about the scene under the temple with Smokie. I think that Ben actually showing his emotions and being sorry for what he did to Alex is the reason Smokie let him live.
~next week - the title of the episode has the word Hoth in it. Did some googling & found that Hoth is a Star Wars reference. It's a planet where the Echo Base of the Rebel Alliance is located in SWV. Not sure where LOST is going with this, but I can't wait to find out. See yall next week!

There's my thoughts for what it's worth. Tune in next week for my thoughts on 5X13 Some Like It Hoth.
