The Post in Which I Think Creatively

2013oneword

As I shared yesterday, my word for 2013, my theme, is create. I'm not 100% sure what that looks like but I have a few ideas in mind and thought I'd share them with yall as well as record them to look back at this time next year.

~Design & publish at least six knitting patterns.
This might mean submitting them to be published in a knitting publication (whether online or in print) or self-publishing. Pattern #1 is already in the midst of this.

~Knit enough pairs of socks that I can stop wearing store bought ones.
I wear socks almost all the time (except when I sleep, weird, I know, but I can't stand to wear socks when I'm sleeping) and hand knit socks are so much more comfortable and they make me smile when I look at my feet and know that each stitch is something I did myself.

~Knit my second ever sweater.
In 2012, I knitted my first ever sweater Ruby's Bookstore Sweater. I love it so much! I have a gazillion sweater patterns in my Ravelry queue and I want to knit at least one of them this year. Now, to pick which one!

~Knit at least six preemie hats to donate to charity.
I designed and published a pattern in 2012 for a Top Down Preemie Hat. I want to knit more of this pattern (or another one I design) to donate to charity this year.

~Consistently journal.
In the last few weeks, I have begun journaling again. It has been a very relaxing and calming thing for me. I have really missed doing it and am enjoying doing it again. I want to journal at least three times a week if not more often.

~Continue keeping a list of the eucharisteo/gifts/joys/Thanksgivings in my life.
I began this list two years ago after reading One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp. My list has grown to over 1600 joys and I can't wait to count many, many more in the year ahead.

~???? - What else?????
I'm not sure. Suggestions? Ideas? Feel free to comment. We'll see what happens in the year ahead! Most of all, I just can't wait to create in 2013!
