A Prayer for Today (25-October-14)

Almighty God,
your Son has shown us how to love one another.
May our love for you
overflow into joyous service
and be a healing witness to our neighbors
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

A Prayer for Today (19-October-14)

You know each of us by name, O God,
and in your sight we have found favour,
yet our minds cannot comprehend the vision of your glory
or the vastness of your love.
Grant that as we glimpse your greatness,
reflected in your many gifts,
we may always return to you
the praise that is yours alone.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

A Prayer for Today (12-October-14)

God of all who wander in the wilderness,
you go before us as beacon and guide.
Lead us through all danger,
sustain us through all desolation,
and bring us home to the land
you have prepared for us.
Amen.

A Prayer for Today (5-October-14)

Holy God,
you love justice and hate oppression;
you call us to righteousness and not to exploitation.
Give us generous and loving hears,
and eyes to see the splendour of your reign,
that we may live in truth and honour,
and praise you for the transformation of our lives,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Post In Which I Check In For September 2014

I can't believe how fast this year is going by. Is it really October already? I wanted to write this post to check in on how September went with my goals for the year.

So, let's have a look at my 2014 goals progress:

~Keep a daily journal.

~I plan to continue sharing about the creative part of my life which includes knitting, spinning, and designing patterns on a month to month basis here on my blog. Hopefully that will include sharing about designing at least six knitting patterns, knitting at least two sweaters for myself, knitting at least six pairs of socks for myself, spinning at least five batches of fiber, knitting several preemie hats to donate to charity, and who knows what else!

Finished Projects
2014 Top Down Preemie Hat #24, 2014 Top Down Preemie Hat #25, 2014 Top Down Preemie Hat #26, + 2014 Top Down Preemie Hat #27 ~ From my own free pattern Top Down Preemie Hat. Knit on US6 (4mm) needles with various yarns + colourways (you can go to the page for each hat to see the details). Our knitting group, the Town Mouse Knitting Club, knit hats earlier in the year to donate and I decided to continue making 1 per week to donate later.

Round, Round, Get Around Shawl - DK Version ~ From my brand new pattern, Round, Round, Get Around Shawl. Knit on US7 (4.5mm) needles with Brigantia Luxury Yarn Double Knit in the 8874 + 8936 colourways.

Round, Round, Get Around Shawl - 4-Ply Version ~ From my brand new pattern, Round, Round, Get Around Shawl. Knit on US4 (3.5mm) needles with Ginger's Hand Dyed Splendor 4ply in the Barapapa + Hot Fuzz colourways.

#KiltMeNowKAL Socks ~ From my vanilla sock recipe with the Fish Lips Kiss Heel. Knit on US1.5 (2.5mm) needles with Ginger's Hand Dyed Sheepish Sock in the Je Suis Prest colourway. These socks are part of the #CountdowntoOutlander + #KiltMeNowKAL that I'm co-hosting with some other podcasters as part of the first season of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander book series. I asked Jess of Ginger Twist Studio to create a special Outlander colourway for me and now she can't keep it in stock because it's selling out so quickly. I adore the stripes, which were an unexpected surprise!
