Today is day 5 of the WEGO Health ~ The Health Activist Writer's Month Challenge 2012. I will be writing a post everyday this month and each will in some way focus on what life is like with fibromyalgia (as well as other health issues including migraines, hypothyroidism, and polycystic ovarian syndrome).
Today’s challenge is one for the eyes. Go to flickr.com/explore. The webpage automatically generates a random photo (or you can refresh your page to see a new photo). Look at the image...the color, composition, style, details, location. What feelings does this evoke in you? Are you reminded of anything significant in your life? Can you imagine yourself in the photo? Can you relate the image back to your health topic?
The background, the sun coming up over the horizon.
The ground, piles and piles of paper.
The woman, a telescope in hand looking, looking, looking.
What in the world does this have to do with illness, with health, with me? Well, I think quite a bit!
It's a picture of hope.
It's a picture of searching for better treatments, for a cure.
It's a picture of wading through all the studies and trials and prescriptions and tests and paperwork that surrounds illness.
It's a picture of looking towards tomorrow with hope on the horizon because this cannot last forever.
We will keep searching and journeying. Will you join with us?
