Welcome 2009!

new year bears

Welcome 2009! In past years, I have made all kinds of resolutions, most of which didn't last even a month. I've been pondering what I might try to do this year. I got a devotional in my email yesterday that really got my attention. I know it was totally a God thing.

So, this year, my New Year's Resolution is going to be to pray the verses below everyday. I want my focus to be on Him and my hope to be in Him.

Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by Your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in You. Psalm 25:4-5

What are you resolving for 2009?

  1. C.C.- this is a fantastic resolution! I may have to borrow it! :) I don't typically do "resolutions", but rather goals instead! (Sounds better to me for some reason!) Some of my goals are to get organized to begin homeschooling & simply my life & schedule. I'm keeping one of those by keeping my goals simple this year! :) Happy New year!

  2. How can it be 2009 already?
A brand new year stands before us. Sometimes a new year is very hard to face. Other times a new year is welcomed with open arms, with hopes that it will be better than the last one was. However you look at it, know that every day of this new year is in the Lord's Hands. He's already there waiting for you with open arms. And I'm here praying as always.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

  3. Hi CC: May I join you with your prayer over my life too daily? This is wonderful, Hun! I am setting reachable goals this year and one is to get more focus on the calling God has for me and to stay organized and enthused for more of His grace and glory! 2008 fled by and I hope 2009 will slow down enough to accomplish God's work for the day, Amen?
    Hugs to you! Be encouraged!
