Came home from some clearance shopping at Target & Walmart to find Damaris' first report card from public school in the mailbox. We're very pleased overall with how she did.
Reading - 94
English - 100 (comment from teacher - positive & responsible behavior)
Spelling - 100
Mathematics - 90
Social Studies - 91
Science 98
Handwriting - Satisfactory
Health - Excellent +
Physical Education - Excellent
Art - Satisfactory
Performing Arts - Excellent
Citizenship - Excellent
So, we'd love to see her improve in her handwriting (we've been working on that with her for years though) and Art as well as bring up her grades a bit in Mathematics and Social Studies.
She is also excelling in the AR Reading program. In the 6 weeks she has been in school, she has earned 84 points. She has received gold, silver, and bronze medals for her reading. She needs to receive 100 points by the end of the school year to go to a special party. I'm sure she'll be to 100 points within the first 2 weeks back to school.
Thank you everyone who has been praying for Damaris. Please continue to pray for the transition Damaris is making in attending public school for the first time, for the transition Russ & I are making in putting her in school, for God to place some special kids in Damaris' life that will be great friends to her, for the teachers who will be teaching our precious daughter, & for God to protect her and all the teachers, staff, and students at her school.
Go Damaris!! Looks like her transition to school has been a good one! Congratulations!
