NaKniSweMo, Say What???

So, being the insane person that I am, I have pounced on a fun knit-a-long that is happening in the month of November. Much like NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) where you write a 50,000 word book in a month, NaKniSweMo (National Sweater Knitting Month) is where you knit a sweater of at least 50,000 stitches in a month. One of my goals for this year was to knit my second ever sweater, and since we only have 2 months left in the year, I figured now was the time to get on this!

I had already picked out the pattern Hoaloha which is a pull-over raglan style sweater written by Mel of the Single Handed Knits Podcast. I had already purchased King Cole Bounty Aran in the Pink Mist colorway so that was ready too. I swatched for the sweater last weekend and then stayed awake until midnight this morning so I could cast on.

I thought it would be fun to share with yall daily my progress, so my plan is to take a picture each morning of the previous day's progress and post a quick post here with the photo and my stitch count to date. I hope you enjoy seeing my progress and I'll really so appreciate you cheering me on as I undertake this massive project in just 30 days time.

In addition, I'll be releasing a new sock pattern this month in about 2.5 weeks time. It is inspired by the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who. I'll be releasing right around the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who which is on the 23rd of November. So, this month won't be busy at all or anything like that. LOL!

As always, find all my completed projects plus what's currently on my needles on Ravelry:

And you can also find all my knitting pattern designs (those available for purchase and some freebies as well) on Ravelry:

  1. Love this idea and can't wait to see the pics! How do you count your stitches or is that just more of a guideline? <3 Pink - why am I surprised?! lol

    1. I posted a sneak peek on Instagram. I'll post a better pic in the morning. I'm using a spreadsheet to tally my stitch count. I'm almost 3,000 stitches in so far (I'm trying to work on 2 other projects at the same time). Of course pink, what else?! LOL! :-)
