The Post in Which I'll Be Scarce for the Next 17 Days

So, unless you're living under a rock, you're probably aware that the Summer Olympics in London start in mere hours. And me being the insane woman that I am, have joined in the 2012 Ravellenic Games hosted on the amazing Ravelry website.

Not only am I participating in the R-Games, but I am also the team captain for our local yarn store's team, Team Yarnies. We have 22 very excited participants, 54 projects (so far, new projects can be added during the games, so we may end up with a higher number), and as of last count, we have at least one project entered in each of 28 events out of the total of 35 events. Wowzers!!!!

As for me, I'm entering 7 projects in a total of 7 different events. (Yes, we've already confirmed that i am insane!)
Here's the rundown:
Smitten Holiday Garland - a project that has been almost complete for about 2 years now, it is competing in the WIPs (Work in Progress) Wrestling event
Top Down Preemie Hat #1, Top Down Preemie Hat #2, Top Down Preemie Hat #3, and Top Down Preemie Hat #4 - this is the pattern that I recently designed and published (available for free here); I'll be using the yarn that my sweet friend (and mom of my former NICU patient Haley) Jackie donated the money for; these hats will each be competing in the hat dash event, baby dressage event, and charity rowing event
Sweet Spring Toe Up Socks - I'll be knitting these socks from the toes up and both at the same time; they will compete in the sock put event, lace longjump event, and possibly the single skein sprint (depends on how much yarn I end up needing)
Mock Cable Socks - I'll be modifying this pattern a bit so that I can knit them toe up and both at the same time; they will compete in the sock put event and possibly the single skein sprint (depends on how much yarn I end up needing)

So, all this to say, if you see me in the next 17 days, I will be madly knitting, but thankfully I can multi-task and interact with you while I am knitting. I hope I'm up for this challenge and can compete all the projects I have on my list. So while you cheer for your country, team, athlete, etc. in the Olympic Games, say a cheer for the over 10,000 Ravletes that are challenging themselves during this 17 days competition.
