A Blogoversary Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed. Winner announced here.

I realized late last night that I had totally screwed up!!!! I'm blaming it on the bad migraine. Yesterday was my 13th Blogoversary!!!!!! And I missed it.

Well, we're just going to pretend like I didn't miss it and celebrate anyway. I mean, how often does one become a teenager. :D My blogoversary yesterday also means that it's been 13 years since we found out that we were expecting a precious little baby, our daughter Damaris who will also become a teenager this year (I'm not old enough to have a teenager!!!!! Somebody help!!!!!! At least I have a few months to go before that happens.).

I know I wrote about beginning to blog recently on my blog, but I can't for the life of me remember in what context (it may have been part of the 30 day blog challenge). For anyone who missed it, I started blogging the day I found out I was pregnant with Damaris. It started as a journal of sorts, a collection of Dear Baby letters that I wrote during my pregnancy. They are now saved on Damaris' blog. I have done blogging of some sort ever since then. I spent quite a few years on Xanga and then moved to WordPress on March 25, 2008.

To celebrate my 13th blogoversary, I'm having a special giveaway. The prize is a secret. You'll have to wait to see what it is. I want to keep it simple, so there's only one way to enter so that everyone has an equal chance of winning. To enter, in the comments below, tell me how you came to read/follow my blog. Are we college friends that reconnected on Facebook? Are we family? Were we seminary classmates? Did you just end up here and you aren't sure how? Now, if you really, really, really aren't sure how you ended up here (or even if you are and just want to have some extra fun), it's okay, you can still play. Just make up how you ended up here, the crazier the better!!!! I'm sure we all can use a good laugh.

Deadline to enter will be 12:01AM CST on Friday, February 10th. I'll announce the winner later that day and you'll have 48 hours to respond to the email I send you. If the winner doesn't respond in 48 hours, I'll pick a new winner. After he/she receives their prize, I'll post about the prize.

I can't wait to read your comments. Enjoy a slice of pink cake from me to you. Wish we could all be together in one place really eating pink cake together. I love and appreciate each of you and the impact you've had on my life through my blog!

And P.S. If you're just dying to get me a gift for my blogoversary, I think this print below would be perfect for this new teenager!

  1. Well, let's see....you are our oldest daughter, so that's reason enough to follow your blog so we can keep up with what's going on in your life.... :-) however, I didn't start following right away....I don't even remember when I first heard about blogging....I just started blogging myself towards the end of November 2011.

  4. Hi C.C.. Happy blogoversary! I started reading your blogs years ago because of the PW list. Which reminds me that I have neglected my blog and have an anniversary to celebrate too. Yikes!

  5. Thanks for commenting Sivje! I love following all your sewing fun on your blog. I wish I could sew, but alas, that's not my talent. So I live vicariously through you! :)

  6. Well...I don't really know for sure. LOL I'm sure we "met" on a Yahoo Fibro group. That's where I meet almost all my friends these days. :-) And then a bunch of us went to a different group and finally ended up on our little ultra top secret group we have now.

I had promised Bill I wouldn't stay up too late but I got to reading you blog posts about your pregnancy. They were so sweet and it was neat knowing what an awesome young lady she's grown up to be. Damaris and I like some of the same things - David Tennet is my favorite Doctor, we watch Merlin and I love Warehouse 13.

You blog is really useful to. I'm about to undertake making my first slipcover. Sivje blog is going to be a huge help with that.

So with all that said, I'm officially going to bed!

Congratulations on 13 years of excellent blogging!
